In Ice Age: The Meltdown, our heroes from Ice Age are back – Manny the woolly mammoth, Sid the sloth, Diego the saber-toothed tiger and the hapless saber-toothed squirrel known as Scrat. In the new film, the Ice Age is coming to an end. Manny, Sid, and Diego quickly learn that the warming climate has one major drawback: a huge glacial dam is about to break, threatening the entire valley. The only chance of survival lies at the other end of the valley. So our three heroes embark on a mission towards their safety.
Before sharing my thoughts on this movie, I just have to ask out loud why Hollywood thinks that if they don't put a number after a movie that we will all be dumb enough to not think it's a sequel. That's just plain insulting. They need to stop doing that.
Anywho, the movie itself was pretty decent. It was a definite let down from the first one and could have easily gone straight to video. If you liked the first one and the good chemistry between the animated threesome of Ray Romano, Dennis Leary, and John Leguizamo - this is definitely worth the rental.
